One Car Family

We had to wake up at 6:45 this morning to take my husband to church. Ouch! You see, he does sound for the services and we only have one vehicle. So...if we want to go to church later, and we do, then we have to bring him in early to have the truck. On mornings such as these, when I had a couple adult beverages last night, I would really like to sleep in. Since I couldn't I wish I could have caffeine to wake me up. Alas I cannot do the caffeine thing so I guess I will have to settle with decaf candy cane coffee. Poor me. Haha not.
Having one vehicle is a pain sometimes but I am content with it at the moment. Most people look at me like I have two heads when I say we don't have two cars. I mean, of course I would love to be able to go places on a whim but really it's okay for now. Why?

Because...
a) we don't have a car payment.
b) we spend less on gas
c) we spend less period since I can't go out and shop whenever I want.
d) we live near a park and technically I could also walk to two stores from our house.

Are you a one vehicle family or do you have more?

  1. We have just one right now, but I think eventually we will go to two. It can be a little difficult sometimes, but I usually use public transportation and let my husband take the car during the week. I commute into the city, so it just makes a lot more sense than me driving anyway. Every once in awhile, we have major conflicts, but if we have to, we just rent a car. It costs less than what we would pay for a car payment, so overall, it still works out!

We have 2 vehicles but one is used strictly for my husband to go back and forth to work. I only take mine out while he's working when I absolutely need to. It's no fun shopping with two kids ages 4 and 6. lol.
