Somehow the first, and second, day of school has come and gone. I don't know why I bothered setting the alarm. She was awake bright and early at 6:30 am sounding a lot like Nemo "It's my first day of school! It's my first day of school!" while she jumped up and down in the hallway.

She is too cute. She more than happily complied with my photo requests. We drove over to the school and she hopped out of the car. I asked for another photo. "Sure!"

Then, she leaned over and picked a flower. She handed it to me and told me she loved me.

She sure knows the way to make me cry. How precious. My first day without her, for 7 whole hours, was odd. I felt so lost. I watched a grown up movie and chilled out. When time came to get her from school I rejoiced inwardly. This is the big girl I found waiting for me.

Her handmade crown says "My first day was a piece of cake!" She thought that was so funny and had nothing but good things to tell me about her first day. She was so proud that she didn't even get in the time out chair "three times" to which I had to clarify she had not been in trouble even once.

I was not the only one who missed her. Oh and this was one of her first pieces of art!

She made me giggle when I asked her what it was. It was supposed to be her favorite animal which was, on this day, a zebra. But, it was too hard so she made a jellyfish which was eating her name and was almost done. She's a silly goose and I love her to bits.

My husband and I love Modern Family! We started watching it thanks to my brother in law. I don't know why I didn't watch it from the beginning but it really makes me laugh out loud. The fourth season is coming out on Blu-ray/DVD on September 24, 2013. Love, Juliebug will be giving away a copy of Modern Family: Season 4 to one lucky reader very soon!

The laughs — and the awards — just keep on coming for the #1-rated “Modern Family,” winner of three consecutive Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series! My apologies for being so scarce around here. Abby was sick and now, you see, I am too. It's not a regular cold or flu. Oh no, I must be too special for that. I have Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. It's not what Abby was diagnosed with but I am assuming she had a very light form of it. I, on the other hand, have a pretty bad version of it.

Currently, I am typing with a pair of blue gloves on so as not to contaminate the keyboard. Oh yes,  fun stuff. Have you heard of this hand, foot,  and mouth? I had but didn't really know what it was.

I got a fever and then the next day my hands were bothering me. They were sensitive, itchy, and burning. Then, the rash started. Oh the rash. Painful and plentiful. My feet were next, my scalp, and throat.

I'm on the upside now thanks to a blend of oils my friend gave me. Olive Oil with tea tree and thieves oils. Over night after starting the blend I was starting to feel better. Hardly any itchiness or burning though my feet look dreadful. I'd post pictures but I don't want to scare you off!

Today I thought I would concentrate on pins of Etsy stuff I love. I tell you, Pinterest and Etsy are a match made in heaven for this girl. There are so many of both that I want to share with you. But, I'll leave it with these beautiful items. Enjoy!

Abby's day started off with a surprise Hello Kitty balloon waiting for her in the living room. She loves balloons and begs me for one every time we are at the store. After her balloon, she had breakfast. What is better than pancakes for breakfast? I'll tell you...

Yes, that is a blueberry FIVE pancake! Special stuff, my friends. She absolutely loved it. When breakfast was over she had a hide and seek game to find her birthday presents. This was my hubby's idea and it was genius!

One of her presents was a new set of Melissa & Doug watercolors. She had a blast painting with them!

Now, it so happens that on her birthday was the MOPS International Playdate. Our playdate was at the library which is one of Abby's favorite places ever. There were practically a billion people there so I don't have a photo. Oh wait, yes I do! Here is a photo of story time. Haha. You know me.

When we left the library we went to Mickey D's for lunch and more playtime. Then, she opened up some presents from Memere & Pepere, and Grandma Betty!

She chilled out for awhile and watched Horton Hears a Who next. Then, after Daddy got off work we went to dinner. She picked the place and her decision was Olive Garden. This girl loves her Spaghetti & Meatballs! Don't believe me?

And, here is a cute photo with her Daddy.

If I want a picture with her lately, this is what I get.

Eh, close enough. lol It's a memory anyway. Her birthday was wonderful. She kept saying "I can't believe I'm FIVE!" all day long. All I could think was "Me either kiddo, me either." Oh and watch this cuteness!

I've found so many great posts in my feed lately. I just had to share them with you.

Dear Daughter, You are not a princess... by A Day's Grace
Have you ever read a post and thought, this is exactly what I've wanted to say but I couldn't find the words? This post was exactly that for me. Princesses are everywhere. I want my daughter to know she is a warrior. God's warrior.

7 Things to Remember When Motherhood Gets Tough by Diapers & Daisies
Being a mother is tough business. I swear you have to be lying (or delusional) if you say otherwise. Am I saying I would trade it? Not for one minute. This post is a great encouragement on those days that are less than joyous.

The Song That's Louder Than Regret by Hands Free Mama
This is another post that I wish I had written. Regret is on my mind often. I worry that I am missing everything. That someday I will have nothing but regret sitting at my feet. She wrote this phrase and it haunts me. "But there are moments in between life’s obligations when we are in the presence of our loved ones that can be made sacred." It doesn't leave you feel weighed down and sad. It reminds you that there is hope. It's not over yet.

Christian Hypocrisy by From Awkward to Art
This hit me hard. "A hypocrite isn't someone who runs back to God when they realized they messed up." A hypocrite is a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings. Messing up as a Christian, as a human, is normal but it's the fake living, non-repentant heart that is hypocritical.
I swear my dog has nails that grow at warp speed. Of course, I could take him to get them clipped professionally but why go through that hassle? Recently, I was given the chance to try Professional Pet Nail Clippers by Epica. They are heavy duty spring action clippers.

Now in the sake of being truthful, my husband is the nail cutter in this house. Our dog is a bit, how do you say, terrified of getting his nails cut. However, I was there observing and he gave me his honest feedback. The clippers are very sharp. It made the work quite fast.

I like that they are rugged, stainless steel, tempered shears. We've owned a pair in the past that felt flimsy and cheap. These do not by any means feel like that.

They have a safety stop which is quite handy to help prevent cutting too much off. I do wish there was a smaller space between the blade and the safety. The reason I say this is that obviously we have a small dog with small nails and it was far too easy to cut off too much. However, the distance might be okay for larger breeds.

All in all, we were quite impressed with the high quality of these nail clippers and look forward to using them for many years to come.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Our baby girl is five years old today. How on earth can that be? You may notice a pattern here, I can never believe how quickly time has passed. It feels like yesterday that we were asking our Bible Study group for prayers for some medical stuff related to conceiving a baby. And, here she is growing and learning so much each day. She makes me laugh and smile and want to pull my hair out but I wouldn't trade a moment. That is the truth. Not even the huge tantrum in the middle of the grocery store. Not even the days of colic we once went through. Because to trade the not-so-pleasant moments would mean I couldn't have the happy ones either. Life is a big mish-mosh of emotion. I thank God for His blessing of Abigail.

Happy 5th Birthday sweet girl!
