So, we all know of my Netflix addiction but we have reached a new level of addiction. And, it's called Pretty Little Liars. I had watched some episodes a few months back and became interested. It wasn't until recently that I started really watching it again.

I don't want to admit how long it has taken me to get to the current season of this show. I don't want to but I will just for posterity's sake. As of the beginning of February I was on Season 2 and now I am in the middle of Season 5. No judgement, friends. No judgement. It helped that I have been sick since last Saturday. I've been at home on the couch just Netflix-ing all day. Is that a verb? It totally should be.

I tend to be very stubborn when it comes to shows I hear too much about. It makes me want to avoid it. I had heard about this show and didn't even care to hear the premise. The title even made me squirm. I had pictures in my head about what it would be. Spoiled rotten little teens who get away with everything.

So, what do I love about the show? It keeps me on my toes. I am usually pretty good about figuring things out but this one is just too complex. There's mystery, there's suspense, even romance. Sure, I don't like each and every story line but there has never been a show I've hated. There have actually been moments where I audibly gasped. I'm glad no one else was in the room. lol

Have you ever gotten caught up in a show like I have? And, have you ever watched Pretty Little Liars?

I am one of those moms. You know, the moms that would watch Despicable Me without the child in the room. I'm a kid at heart, I guess. Here are eight kids movies coming out in 2015 that have me happy.

1. Cinderella - 3/3/15: Okay, not that this movie has never been done - or redone for that matter - but I think that Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother has really peaked my curiosity.

2. Home - 3/27/15: Oh is a loveable misfit from another planet. For some reason this character alone is enough to draw me in.

3. Underdogs - 4/10/15:

4. Inside Out - 6/19/15:

5. Minions - 7/10/15:

6. Pan - 7/24/15: There are also so many remakes of Peter Pan but I love the storyline and cannot pass it up.

7. Hotel Transylvania 2 - 9/25/15: When the old-old-old-fashioned vampire Vlad arrives at the hotel for an impromptu family get-together, Hotel Transylvania is in for a collision of supernatural old-school and modern day cool. I can't help it. Adam Sandler makes me laugh. The first movie was cute and different enough to make me want to see the second one.

8. The Peanuts Movie - 11/6/15: Snoopy embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his team take to the skies to pursue their arch-nemesis, while his best pal Charlie Brown begins his own epic quest back home. I've always loved Peanuts and while this is CGI-animated and therefore different, I can't wait to see what they've done with it.

doveWhen I first moved to my own apartment, I would buy the cheapest shampoo there was. I just didn’t have the money to buy anything expensive, and I didn’t know about coupons or how to get brand name shampoo for cheap.
When I started to learn about coupons, the first shampoo I stocked up on was Dove. I had so much of it and I had only paid pennies for it. It was really great. And for that, Dove will always have a special place in my heart. I must not be the only one, though, because Dove has won a ton of awards.
These are some of the 2014 awards Dove products have won:

I'd love to say I've never lied. I'd love to but we're all guilty of at least a few lies in our lifetime and I'm no exception. While it's true I've never told what I consider to be a whopper, like soap opera material, the little white lies are just as destructive in their own way.

The biggest I lie I've ever told? "I'm fine" when sometimes, honestly, I'm anything but fine. It happens everyday in different forms. "How're you doing?" "Good!" It's my generic, go to answer. Good, fine... all deflecting words.

Partly this is due to an underlying belief I've just uncovered. Sometimes I actually think that nobody cares about the truth. That even though people ask how I'm doing, they don't really want a deep, meaningful conversation about my life, my struggles. My, you know, realness. They just want a happy, "all is well with my world" sort of answer. And, when I say this out loud, it sounds ridiculous. I know that it can be true but I also know that it is unhealthy of me to think everyone is this way. They're not.

Still, how are we ever going to have these real and deep relationships when we are so... fake about our lives? If all we are ever saying is "I'm fine and things are awesome." how are we going to connect to other people in a meaningful way? Friendship is not forged in the projecting of perfection. The roots of friendship are grown by sharing struggles.

I challenge you, and myself, to take the words fine and good and okay out of our vocabulary. Let's have honest-to-goodness conversations with our friends that show them we care what their days are filled with.

We can't encourage others if we don't ever truly speak the truth to each other.

Dinner will be on the table within 20 minutes with simple yet delicious French Bread Pizza!

Many of my favorite childhood memories revolve around food. One in particular has to do with a certain brand of frozen french bread pizzas. My mom and I would occasionally enjoy them together. It was a special event sort of thing. I never thought about the possibility of having them homemade. Blow my mind. They are super easy and quick to make as well as EVEN BETTER than the store bought counterpart. I hope you enjoy!

Start by slicing a loaf of french bread in half and cover it with your favorite marinara sauce. I use's recipe for Quick Marinara Sauce.  I make this a lot because it is easy and delicious. Then, if you are going to add meat to your pizza, add the meat so it doesn't fall off. I used pepperoni because in our house it is almost sacrilegious to speak of pizza without it.

Top it with cheese, normally you use mozzarella and you certainly can stick to tradition. I happened to only have Colby-Jack on hand so I went with the flow. Food is easy like that.

And now comes the fun part...add any topping your heart desires. My heart was indecisive. Actually, my whole family just happens to like different things. The plain pepperoni was for my hubby, the pepperoni and olive for our 6 year old, and the pepperoni, mushroom, and green pepper was ALL MINE. Pop those bad boys into a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Look at this gorgeousness!

Here is a slice of my yummy pizza. I'm drooling. This is quicker than that frozen stuff and, can I just say, SO much better tasting?! Yep, I said it.

  • 1 loaf of french bread
  • 1-2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, veggies, sausage - be creative!)
  1. Slice french bread loaf in half, lengthwise.
  2. Spread each half with sauce.
  3. Top with cheese.
  4. Add your favorite pizza toppings, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Or, as my MIL used to say, until the cheese is bubbly.
  6. Allow to cool then enjoy! Don't leave out this step as it makes the cheese set. You don't want all the gooey cheese to slide off the pizza when you slice it.

When was the last time you got together with some girlfriends for a girls night in? For me, that would be last night. And, man, was it needed! We had a tea party and movie night for the movie The Best of Me. It included yummy treats like these:

Oreo Truffles

Petite Fours
Those treats were so yummy and decadent. Every sweet love story needs perfectly sweet treats in my opinion. I had a blast making them for our fun night. I was sent some amazing goodies from Fox Home Entertainment Insiders and Teavana. Speaking of Teavana, have you ever heard of them?

They believe that great tea works wonders. The delicious tastes and health benefits make tea a wonderful beverage - much better than the unhealthy alternatives. The Teavana dream began with an idea that people would enjoy fresh, high-quality tea in a place that was part Tea Bar, part Tea Emporium. We wanted to introduce people to the aromas, textures, and beneficial qualities of loose leaf teas while enlightening them with the history and variety of teas available. And this is how Teavana was born. Below are the items they sent me.

I have to admit that, though I love tea, I had never had loose leaf tea before. Oh, what I was missing out on! I think I am spoiled now. The beautiful tin on the left is filled with rock sugar, and the white tin has the most amazing smelling tea. It is a limited edition tea called First Blush. "A poetic pairing of Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls and Strawberry Blush Rose that blossoms with the rapturous flavors of strawberries, rose petals, summer jasmine flowers, tangerines, rhubarb slices and vanilla bean. Blended with love and infused with romance, First Blush is sure to warm the heart of whomever you're sweetest on this Valentine's Day." This is how they describe this yummy tea on their website and I feel it quite fitting.

I also received a mug and vanilla scented candle for everyone in attendance. Isn't that sweet? These gals certainly thought so too!

Finally it was time to make some tea and enjoy the food!

Isn't this Perfectea maker super cool? It is much simpler to use than I thought. You simply place the loose leaf tea into it then add the freshly boiled water. Close the lid and let it steep the recommended time. When the time is up you just place it on a cup to drain the liquid.

Let's not forget the tissues because this movie is a definite tear jerker! Thankfully, Fox Home Entertainment Insiders remembered those in the package as well. They are so considerate and trust me, those Kleenex were needed.

Have I mentioned I have a slight man crush on James Marsden? Ahem yeah. Moving on.

About the movie: Although I love Nicholas Sparks, I had not read this one. That may be a good thing because this movie made me bawl. Like dead on, ugly cry. Ugh. It is a sweet, sweet story mixed with some disturbing elements. You have been warned.

The Best of Me is about two main characters named Dawson and Amanda. They are a pair of former high school sweethearts reunite after many years when they return to visit their small hometown. I also have to share one of my favorite lines. It made me laugh and felt so real to me. "This is dangerous, we've had wine, and you somehow have gotten better looking which is so annoying. I mean you couldn't have gotten bald or fat or something? Jesus!"

I had a blast having this fun girl's night in! Thanks Teavana and Fox Home Entertainment Insiders!
