Love, Juliebug: July 2015
A good friend of mine from our local MOPS group started a company called Granny's Green Goo. She makes all the salves and more by hand with high quality ingredients. Her products bring herbal healing to your home. They range from her GGG - Signature Herbal Multi- use Salve to Teething Gel and even After Ink salve.

Today I will be reviewing the following products: GGG, Sun-Day, and Shay Butter & Herb Lip Balm in Peppermint and Vanilla.

GGG is the salve that started it all. "It contains six healing herbs in a coconut/olive oil and beeswax base. No artificial preservatives, colors, fragrances, or petroleum products. Goes on smoothly so won't stretch broken or raw skin."

It really is the do it all salve. Use it on diaper rash, cuts, burns, chapped skin, eczema, cold sores, stretch marks, bee stings and more! The scent is very mild and earthy. I used it on a rash on my hand and it worked to clear it up quickly.

It comes in three different sizes 4 oz, 1 oz, and .25 oz.

Sun-Day is natural sun block. I know you've heard all about the bad stuff in typical sunscreen. This is nothing like that stuff. "Sun-Day sun block is made with a number of skin loving oils like carrot seed, coconut, avocado, and shea butter. All of these oils help protect your skin from the suns rays, but the real all star is our non-nano, high quality, Zinc Oxide. This ingredient boosts our sun stick up to 30+SPF and provides broad protection from both UVA and UVB rays of the sun. This is due to natural properties of zinc oxide, which produces a physical barrier on the skin to block the sun's rays. There is a little bit of peppermint essential oil which not only makes it smell good, but it also lends a cooling effect to the skin, and rosemary essential oil to act as a natural bug repellent. Perfection."

I have to say I love this stuff. The only issue I had was that it takes a little bit longer to rub into the skin than other sunscreens. Honestly, that doesn't matter to me. What matters is that not only do we not have to have those icky chemicals but the sun doesn't get to burn us either!

It is available in two sizes; a 1 oz stick and a 3 oz squeeze bottle. And, remember a little goes a long way!

Shea Butter and Herb Lip Balm is exactly as it sounds. It is an amazingly moisturizing lip balm made with  GGG Special Infused coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax, essential oils. The lip balm comes in your choice of  Vanilla, Peppermint, Cinnamon, or Tangerine.

They go on smoothly and keep my lips from drying out. I really like this stuff. I tried it in Vanilla and Peppermint. I think I will be trying Tangerine next as I love citrus scents.

It comes in an oval shaped lip tube which is perfect to easily apply to my lips.

All Things Lovely

It has been eons since I've done a Thursday 13 post. I miss them. And, so here we go! Thursday 13 can be about anything. I could make a theme or be random. Let's see what we get today!

1. Our daughter is so close to being seven years old. Two weeks people. Two weeks from Saturday. I'm really not sure how time can fly so fast.

2. The hubby's job has finally picked up. This is both awesome and hard. Awesome for the obvious financial reasons and hard because we got used to having him home more.

3. In a little under a month our kiddo will be a first grader. I think she's going to have an awesome year but I do wonder how it will go with homework since we had zero in Kindergarten.

4. In the last week I got to see two very different concerts. The first was Living Color & Aerosmith. The second was Montgomery Gentry & Alabama. My favorite was Aerosmith by far. Man, do they rock! But, I'll be honest, I had no idea I liked Montgomery Gentry so much!

5. I'm trying to get back into sending little notes to friends and family. I love getting and sending snail mail plus I think everyone can use encouragement.

6. Did I tell you we have a garden? It doesn't have a huge amount of veggies but that's because it was our first year trying it and some things didn't survive. We have tomatoes and zucchini that is flourishing with a few baby veggies so far. It's unbelievably rewarding.

7. I finally have a new computer on its way to our house. It should be here in about a week. I cannot wait. Our current laptop is three years old (to us) and was at a rental center prior. It keeps overheating and shutting down no matter what I try.

8. I've been loving listening to Pandora lately. I might have close to a billion stations saved. My favorite right now? Well, I have two. #1 is Breakeven (song) and #2 is Oasis (group).

9. We are trying to eat better. Meats, eggs, veggies, fruits with some dairy. Mainly I'm trying not to have excess sugar and carbs. It's tricky. Always tricky.

10. One thing I wish I could buy? An air conditioner for our house. Yes, it is cold most of the year but right now it is in the upper 80's/lower 90's and it gets way too hot in here. Whine, whine, I know.

11. I'm still debating myself as to whether I actually enjoyed Pitch Perfect 2 or not. Parts of it I loved. Other parts I could have done without. Which side will win? I guess we'll see if I buy it when it comes out on DVD/Digital HD.

12. I found a new game that I absolutely adore. My friend Heather owns it and it's called Rummikub. It's like the card game Rummy but with tiles.

13. I'm still addicted to Pretty Little Liars. It is getting close to the mid-season finale of the show where we are supposed to get ALL the answers. I want to trust Marlene King. I do but she's toyed with my emotions one too many time. So, I'll believe it when the episode is over. ;)

Okay, so obviously I went with completely random here. My thoughts were all over the place. Typical and I make no apologies!

You guys know I love sharing my favorite apps and websites with you. I have another today! Vudu. Chances are, you've heard of Vudu but do you know how awesome it is? It makes keeping your digital movie collection easy. I am able to watch movies I buy or rent on our television, computer, or mobile devices. Take a look at how easy it is to use as a family.

I have grown up movies on ours as well as family friendly movies like the new to Vudu Dreamworks movie HOME. Use Vudu to have your very own HOME Family Movie Night!

Do you use Vudu? If so, what is your favorite feature?

This summer has flown by. We didn't have big plans so it has mainly been hanging out at home. It has been nice, lazy, and, according to my almost 7 year old, boring. What can you do? We have been doing activities from Pinterest. Things like this:

A Little Learning For Two: Ice Eggs

DIY Toy Car Wash

'Frozen' Erupting Snow

How to Make Easy Paper Lanterns -- Kids Culinary Passport (Japan)

Just click on the photo to be brought to the specific pin. I think her favorite so far has been the car wash, believe it or not. She keeps playing with it over and over. Who knew?!

Oh, and, in case you were wondering, we have about two weeks until she turns seven and less than a month until she starts First Grade!

What have you been doing to keep busy this summer?

So, you all know that I just gave away a copy of the adorable family movie HOME right? It just came out on Blu-ray/DVD on 7/28/15. We've had it on Digital HD for a while now and I won't even tell you how often we've watched it. It's sort of embarrassing actually. Thanks to Fox Home Entertainment Insiders we are having a fun Family Movie Night this weekend!

Guess what we're watching?! Betcha can't! Hehe.

Yep, HOME! We are getting some fun party supplies for the occasion including a slushie maker! I might even make some special snacks for the night. We also have a special clip just for you... Oh's Party Planning Tips!

Check back on my Twitter and Instagram pages on Saturday night as I bring our party to you live! I will also be updating the blog after the weekend to share the fun. Why don't you join us and have your very own HOME family movie night? Here is a link of fun party printables.

Have a great weekend!

Our kids have it so easy. Well, at least when it comes to phones and computers. I mean, my daughter won't have to deal with so much frustration in that regard. Here are some phrases my kid will likely not understand.

Be kind. Please rewind. I mean, she doesn't even know what Blockbuster or Hollywood Video is never mind what a VHS tape is. This is crazy. Hollywood Video closed closed the last of their stores in 2010 and Blockbuster closed  stores and online DVD deliveries in early 2014. Honestly, though I don't miss VHS much. I always had issues with them getting caught in the VHS player.

I tried to call you but it was busy. Occasionally my cell phone will wig out and give me a busy signal but most people never hear that frustrating sound when calling friends or family. There was no call waiting. And don't get me started on the fact that we didn't have caller ID. That was an introverts worst nightmare, I know.

When you called me last night I got kicked off the internet. It took forever to dial up again. Okay, so I know that some people still use dial-up internet but it is becoming a dinosaur, thankfully. Do you remember what a pain in the butt that was? EVERYTHING took SO LONG!

I need to get this film developed so I can see how my pictures turned out. I can barely remember when digital cameras (and cell phones with good digital cameras) didn't exist. On one hand, you could take some really good photos with those film cameras. On the other hand, you could (and often did) have blurry, horrible pictures instead. I love being able to see a photo instantly and re-take it if necessary.

Hang up the other phone, I've got it! When I was a kid we had these weird things called landlines. Phones were hooked up to jacks throughout the house. Every time a call came in you would hear ringing in many rooms. Whoever answered first had to then call the person to pick up the nearest phone. "Hang up the other phone, I've got it!" was commonly heard. I'm just lucky I didn't have a nosy sibling listening in on my calls.

I've got a quarter if I need to call for a ride home. Again, no cell phones were available in the 80's. We had these disgusting things called payphones. A local call was .25 and we only had a certain amount of time to talk before you had to deposit more money. If you failed to find another quarter then you were disconnected. You learned to convey your messages fast. "Done at 4. Be at the office. Bye."

I ran out of room on my floppy disk. It will only take 10 more for this file. Ah floppy disks. They held so little data. It was a lot at the time. 1.4 Mb. Just as a clue, CD's hold up to 700 Mb's. Oh, gosh. Will she even know what a CD is by the time she is a teen?!

My dad's going to hook up the Atari so I can play Frogger after school. Atari? Frogger? This was what video games looked like when I was young. Well, until the Nintendo Entertainment System was created in 1985.

 photo frogger.gif
This is much, much faster than the original but what do you expect? This is a gif. ;)

I made the perfect mix tape for our road trip. I'm sorry, a mix what? What's a tape? Oh, you mean a playlist? Um, no. Mix tapes were my favorite.

I didn't have your number, so I looked you up in the phone book. You know, the white pages. No, not on the computer! It was a big book with names, addresses, and phone numbers. Ah, forget it.

How about you? Did you ever say any of these phrases? Do you have any to add?

This post is for everyone including myself. I'm so consumed with doing things right or appearing like I've got it all together and it kills creativity. I can't be creative until I relax and let it flow out of me.

Being a Fox Home Entertainment Insider sure has perks! This time I am planning a girl's night based on the movie The Longest Ride. Look below for what we were sent...

First off, we have a gorgeous bag. It is burlap with a velcro closure and the pocket has velcro as well. It's large and perfect for the summer!

Just a sneak peak.

We got quite a bit of stuff, as you can see.

Here's a list: The Longest Ride on Blu-ray + Digital HD, Chex Mix, a movie branded keychain with a bull & bull rider, Orville Redenbacher movie butter popcorn, Kernel Season's White Cheddar powder flavor, and Kernel Season's Movie Theater butter as well as an autographed copy of Nicholas Sparks book 'The Choice'. Were we hooked up or what?! Most of these items are available at Target. The ones that are have been linked above. I may have especially swooned over the autographed book. I'm all fan-girl like that.

I might even make some of these:

I wouldn't have thought to add cereal and pretzels to the popcorn with the cheddar seasoning. I am so curious about that! And, who doesn't like a yummy sweet drink (with or without the alcohol)?

When was the last time you had a girls night in?

Oh, and check out this clip from The Longest Ride.
