Love, Juliebug: April 2016
There's something you should know about me. I have very thin, fine hair. Seeing as we live in Wyoming, I struggle with static electricity a whole lot for some reason. My hair also gets quite frizzy sometimes. I'm always on the lookout for a product that can help me tame my tresses without being extremely heavy. A product that works without a bunch of nasty chemicals even. Oh, dare to dream!

Recently I came across a styling cream by LuxeOrganix. It is the Moroccan Argan Oil Styling CreamBelieve it or not, it is available on Amazon. Have I mentioned how much I love Amazon? Love, love, love. This cream, by the way, works! I use a small amount on my damp hair and I can't even tell it's there. Well, other than the fact that it works. I don't have a stiff or sticky feeling in my hair and that is great because...secret #2: I play with my hair throughout the day. Ack! I know. I need to leave it be but I just can't.

Now back to the styling cream. It is a pleasant smelling, white cream. There are no harsh Sulfates, Parabens, Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Phthalates or Phosphates so you can feel safe using this on any member of your family. Argan oil is very good for your hair, by the way. Oh, and before I forget - this cream has a built-in thermal protectant to help keep your hair safe from heat styling.

Give it a try! And, did I mention there is a giveaway? Oh yes, I didn't forget about you guys!

Nourish, define and control your hair with this hydrating styling cream, infused with one of the world's rarest treasures, Moroccan Argan Oil. Smoothing for soft, manageable hair. Can also be used on dry hair to add texture. Eliminates frizz. Enhances color and curls, and creates incredible shine. Gentle and flexible for changing up your everyday hairstyle. Rock the "Smooth and Straight," to "Soft, Bouncy Curls," to "Sexy, Wavy Beach" hair. The LuxeOrganix styling cream can be used on wet or dry hair, and works well with blow drying with a round brush, air drying, flat iron, or curling iron to create a variety of different hair styles. Premium Healthy Ingredients make it safe for colored or chemically treated hair and extensions. No Harsh Sulfates, Parabens, Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Phthalates or Phosphates so you and your family can Feel Beautiful without Sacrificing your Health! Built in Thermal Protectant guards your hair from Heat Styling. Helps to Restore and Prevent Dry, Damaged Hair or Breakage. Not tested on Animals.

One day recently my husband and I were sitting on our bed talking. It was probably around my birthday. You know, the big 4-0? I was complaining about the signs of growing older. Talking about my gray hair, which by the way is insane lately. It could be that women are more prone to staring in the mirror picking ourselves apart. Oh look, a new wrinkle or two. Those bags under my eyes are deeper than they used to be. Is that an age spot?! Yeah, these are all things I've said to myself.

So, imagine my surprise when my husband dropped this "little pearl" in my lap.

"I like your gray hair."

What? What did he say? He's just being nice.

"Why do you like my gray hair?"

Cause I hate it, I thought.

"Because it means we're growing old together."

While I could focus on the fact that he just essentially called us old...I didn't. I chose to be in the moment and hear my husband's heart.

It's so true, people. We are growing old together. This is a beautiful thing. All the wrinkles, age spots, and gray hair in the world fade away in importance when compared with that.

I love this man.

He is really good at keeping my perspective in check.

CAR SEAT SAFETY

Did you know that every 33 seconds a child under 13 is involved in a car crash in the United States? That probably isn’t the first thing you think about when you are hauling your kids to school, the grocery store, or anywhere else around town. And really, you shouldn’t have to worry about whether or not your child is safely snuggled into the right car seat every time you get in the car. Instead, make sure your child is in the right seat from the get-go. Safety seats, if used correctly, can dramatically reduce the risk of fatality or injury. But over half of car seats are misused in a way that could reduce their effectiveness and 1 in 3 children killed in car crashes were completely unrestrained at the time of the crash. Just the thought of that is devastating. So why not select the right car seat from the start?

And just because you THINK you know you have the right car seat, think again. Wouldn’t it just be best to know, without a doubt, that your child is in the right seat? Unfortunately, there are so many parents out there who are not educated on the ins and outs of car seat safety. It is so important that we get the word out and educate parents and caregivers about the importance of selecting the right seat for their child’s age and size, and to remind them that car seats, booster seats and seat belts offer the best protection for children in crashes and help save lives. CAR SEAT SAFETY Don’t wait until it is too late. Check out http://www.safercar.gov/parents/CarSeats/Car-Seat-Safety.htm to make sure you have the right seat buckled in the right way. Car Seat Safety Tips:
  • Find a car seat that fits your child. As children grow, how they fit in their car seat will change. Make sure the car seat you purchase is designed to fit your child’s current size and age.
  • Not all car seats fit in all vehicles so test the car seat you plan to buy to make sure it fits correctly in your vehicle.
  • Before installing your car seat in your vehicle and putting your child in the car seat, read the manufacturer’s instructions so you know how your car seat works.
  • All-in-One car seats offer you the advantage of using the same seat for the following positions: rear-facing, forward-facing with harness, then booster. These seats typically have higher height and weight limits for the rear-facing position, allowing you to keep your child rear-facing for a longer period of time.
Make it your priority to make sure your child or a child you love is safe when they are buckled in.

Is there anything in this post that surprises you? Let's be proactive and keep the most special "cargo" we will ever carry in our vehicles safe. Our little ones rely on us so let's do whatever we can to protect them.
