Love, Juliebug: February 2017
I have always thoroughly enjoyed the music of Steven Curtis Chapman. Not everyone knows his name, I know, but he is one of the first Christian artists I ever loved listening to. The song I'm sharing with you has a personal significance to me. It's called "God is God" and it talks about how we'll never understand everything in this world. It is so on point. I tend to be that person that needs to know all the details before I take a step. This is not faith. I've always struggled with that. This song reminds me that God is God and I am not. I hope you enjoy.

What song do you love that reminds you of an important truth?

This. This quote is one I needed to share today. I struggle with being a perfectionist and it is difficult. I am so hard on myself all the time. Sometimes you just need to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on when you make a mistake. Like the quote says, forgive yourself.

Do you struggle with this like I do?

Did I miss a week (or two)? Things have gotten progressively more busy over here. Nevertheless, I'm here this week and hope you've had a great week so far! Here is my Thursday Thirteen for this week.

1. The Instant Pot has quickly become my favorite kitchen tool. Yes, I've been sucked into the hype and it is so worth it.

2. The house had some minor things fixed today, which means the only thing standing in the way of listing it is to finish packing, and deep clean the place.

3. Wish us good luck. Ah heck, good luck has nothing to do with it. Please pray that it sells quickly so we can all be together as a family again. This is getting old fast.

4. God has been so gracious in providing amazing friends everywhere we go. This also makes it extremely difficult to leave. Impossible almost.

5. Music has been instrumental in keeping me sane and motivated. I particularly love the 1987 playlist that I found on Spotify.

6. You would not believe the amount of stuff I've given or thrown away.

7. Did you see that the Golden Girls are now on Hulu?! Truly exciting. As a kid, I didn't quite get the jokes but now I love watching it. I'm all about classic tv shows now.

8. Speaking of friends again, I am so thankful that they are willing to help me out. They are such blessings.

9. We're trying to find a place to rent when we are back in Arizona. Hopefully we are able to find one that works in the right time frame.

10. Did anybody else notice that this year marks 30 years since Dirty Dancing was released? How is that possible? I love that movie and fully plan on having a Girl's Night to celebrate!

11. And while we are talking about my childhood I have to share that there is a chance my favorite teen crushes (New Kids on the Block) are coming to our town this summer! Okay, so it's a slim chance but I would totally fly back up here to see them with all my Wyo girls.

12. The other day I accidentally spilled a crap ton of sequins all over the floor. I'm so unhappy about that one. What a pain!

13. I'm looking forward to moving back to AZ but at the same time, I think I am slightly insane to want to move back because of the intense heat. lol

I found this week's Musical Monday featured artist by searching for La La Land cover videos on YouTube. Hers is no disappointment. In fact, it is the video I share with you today. However, I have loved every music video she's made so please be sure to check out her channel.

A lot of the music I listen to lately is from YouTube. I love, love, love listening to covers (and even originals) by relatively unknown artists. One of my favorite artists is Jemma Johnson. Who? Look her up on YouTube (or listen below) to hear her voice. It is so smooth like butter. There's a warmth and interesting sound to everything she sings. I would LOVE to sing a duet with her. There are many songs, all of them in fact, that I'd like to share with you. I picked one of her latest and her first on piano.

Do you love her voice or what? The first time I discovered her music I ended up listening to about 30 videos worth of music at once. Now that's good stuff. Did you listen to more than one of her songs? If so, which did you like best so far?

Nobody likes going through a struggle. Seriously, I've never known someone who is actually pleased to be going through something hard. I've had my share of those hard times. And while I know that cliched phrases will rarely help, I do know that sometimes it helps to see things from a new angle.

Maybe you have recently gone through something or you are currently going through a struggle...just remember that it won't last forever. You will get through it and be stronger for it.

1. Purging your belongings isn't as easy as I thought it'd be.

2. I've had major tension headaches lately as well as shoulder and back pain.

3. I've been really enjoying using my Instant Pot. Quick and yummy meals!

4. I wish we could gather up all those who we love and make them live in the same place.

5. Everyone keeps asking if we know when we are moving. We don't. It really all depends on the house selling.

6. I am so struggling to get motivated with all the house stuff.

7. In all the times that we've moved it still amazes me how torn I feel. I'm so excited to be moving back to Arizona and still I will miss Wyoming and all the amazing friends I've made here.

8. Sometime in the near future I want to start a Bullet Journal. It looks so fun!

9. I've been really enjoying some new music I found lately on YouTube. I'm not even sure what genre it falls under but it is so pleasing to my ear. She does covers and originals but it all started for me with this one from the movie La La Land.

10. I've been loving being part of our MOPS group again. Still debating getting involved once we are back in Arizona.

11. A newer movie that I really love? Nerve. When I first saw the trailer I knew I would love it and I was right. It has an interesting premise. Have you seen it?

12. I used to write all the time. All the time, seriously. I wrote poetry and song lyrics. I wish I could get back into it but I feel like my creativity is broken sometimes.

13. I should probably go and keep packing/sorting!

I have to admit it. I'm starting to enjoy our Mondays together. You feel it too, right? I mean, we're talking about music. I loves music. This week I'm sharing a song I only recently discovered. This band's sound is right out of the late 70's so I was a small tot when this sound was floating around. I'm glad they revived it because it is so satisfying to listen to. Not to mention the fact that I do believe in a thing called love. Oh yeah. Enjoy!

Is there a song you think I need to listen to? Please share in the comments!
Quotes Of The Day – 13 Pics:

For far too long I've been living in a place where I constantly worry about how people see me. What will they think? Will I look foolish? How could I possibly express myself? It's tiring. Have you ever felt this way? It's okay, you can admit it too. It's freeing to let yourself out of that cage. I love this quote.

You may think "Why does this quote help you with what you just mentioned?" Well, I figure if someone is going to judge me then it doesn't matter what I do. So, I might as well do what I feel is right. This world is filled with so much criticism, so much judgement, so much fear. We need to be willing to stand up and gently speak the truth.

How do you deal with criticism?

Another Thursday has come, the first one in February! How has the first month of 2017 already flown by? This is what happens though. I never used to understand the phrase "The days are long but the years are quick" until I became a mom. Or, maybe it's just as I get older. Who knows? So, I thought I'd share thirteen songs I've been loving lately. By the way, I listen to a mix of different kinds of music. So, without further delay here is my list of thirteen songs on I've been loving lately. You can click on the song title to open it on Spotify and listen to your hearts content.

1. Something Wild by Lindsey Stirling, Andrew McMahon :: This song is instrumentally interesting and Andrew's voice is smooth and familiar.

2. Closer by The Chainsmokers, Halsey :: I'm not a huge fan of the actual lyrics. I mean, I don't connect to them or anything. But, the sound of the actual song is dang catchy.

3. Ordinary World by Joy Williams :: This is a cover of a popular Duran Duran song done by one of my favorite female voices. I first heard Joy Williams in the Christian music realm and then in the duo known as The Civil Wars.

4. 3:20 by Colony House :: There's just something about the music to this one that draws me in from the first few notes. I didn't even know until very recently that two of the four band members are sons of Christian music icon Steven Curtis Chapman.

5. Stronger Than We Think by Danny Gokey :: Way more than an American Idol contestant, I love his voice and his songs are uplifting. This song has a great message and it sticks in my brain.

6. Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran :: Great beat and come on, it's Ed Sheeran. Love his voice.

7. Yours If You Want It by Rascal Flatts :: One country group that I truly love. There's something about their voices and songs that makes me smile. This song makes me think of my hubby.

8. Hell Would Have to Freeze Over by Catherine McGrath :: Another country but I love songs that are acoustic and have a simple, beautiful melody.

9. Beautiful Messes by Hillary Scott & The Scott Family :: The words of this song are always much needed for my soul. I love it. "Ain't it time we start laying it down?" Yep, we all carry around so much stuff we don't need anymore.

10. This Town by Niall Horan :: Okay, so a member of One Direction. I know I'm not a teenager but there's a sweet, simplicity to this song that makes me want to listen to it over and over.

11. Fall Afresh by Kari Jobe :: Her voice is sweet and this song touches me like most of hers do.

12. Be Revealed by Grayson Reed :: This duo is brand new to me but the song feels like an old friend.

13. Still Into You by Ashley Tisdale, Chris French :: This is a remake of one of my favorite Paramore songs. I know, I tend to like acoustic covers of songs. I also never thought Ashley Tisdale would make an appearance on my Thursday Thirteen but I can't deny that I like this song.

Let me know if there is a song I should know about or if there's a particular song you now love thanks to my list.
