You Say It's Your Birthday

As a Mom I take delight in making special breakfasts for my loved ones on their birthday. So, this morning while snuggling in bed with our five year old, I asked her what she was making me for breakfast. She quickly replied, "Nothing! I'm a kid! You have to make it." Such is the life of a Mom. Happy 38th birthday to me!

But, you know what? I wouldn't trade it. Not really. I may joke or grumble from time to time but when it comes down to it, I love this life. Our little family is precious to me whether we are broke or rich. Whether we live in a roach infested trailer (which we have at times) or a big fancy house. This family is precious to me because God has given it to us. He provides for us each day. Makes me swallow my pride often and fills my heart to the top with thankfulness. For my friends. For my family.

I am thankful for my husband and daughter. I am thankful even if we never have another child. I am thankful even for this anxiety because it's brought me closer to Him. I am thankful for another year on this earth. And, I pray that this next year is filled with ways to bless others as He has blessed me.

And yes, I did reveal my age. Not sure when that became okay for me but somehow it is.
