Our Christmas 2016

Okay, this was supposed to be up the day after Christmas. Obviously, that didn't happen. Still, I hope that your holidays have been filled with precious, happy memories. This year we had Christmas in Arizona. I love Christmas. Have I said that yet? We get to be near family that we don't always get to see. It would be great if we all lived near each other but unfortunately that isn't going to happen anytime soon. So, I just enjoy it while I can and try to deal with missing them the rest of the time.

Christmas Eve was spent with my mom and step-dad. We went to a nearby church service and then had fun opening a present each before bed. Of course, we left out cookies and milk for Santa plus carrots for the reindeer. They were gobbled up by morning and I'm sure they were enjoyed very much.

It was a quiet evening and very nice to hang out with them. The next morning, for some reason, I woke up at 5:30 am to go to Dunkin Donuts for donuts. Not my favorite like when I was a kid but still yummy. Also, maybe it was just this location but there were not as many donuts as usual. I get that but I wasn't aware and as a result was a bit disappointed. I'm kind of torn on this one because while I am thankful they were even open on Christmas Day, I also wish they were all just at home with their families.

I don't know why I'm only showing you food pictures. It's kind of comical now that I think about it. I swear I took more photos than this and I'll prove it soon enough. Anyway, Christmas morning was nice with the sugar rush but my favorite part was seeing the smiles all around the room. My mom and I then spent the remainder of the morning getting ready for Christmas "Dinner" or should I say lunch since we ate at about noon? My Aunt, Uncle, and cousin came over and we enjoyed some yummy food as well as laughs together. I'd share photos but my Aunt probably wouldn't be too thrilled, right Auntie? ;) She knows I love her.

Here are some more photos from our weekend.

It was a lot of fun as you can probably tell. Did you see my slightly crazy eyed photo? I was super excited to get the Harry Potter series from my Mom and Step-Dad. I may love those books a teensy bit but I didn't own them, until now!

We are still trying to catch up on sleep. You know how vacations can get but it is so worth it.

How was your Christmas?
